Seeing you're online
what a fckng mess
what a fckng shambles of communications
what a way to treat your customers
what a shower of sh1te our club appears to be
No updates, no progress, no care, no vision, no hope
well?

You realise that Andy can only give updates on things when he receives information to update is on ?
Moaning to him about a lack of updates/vision is as much use as moaning to the girls at the ticket office about ticket prices.

Hi useless, I'm outside the confidentiality agreement - rightly so - so am unable to give information, other than official releases, as briefed.
Absolutely understand the frustration, but can assure you I will get information out as soon as it's given to me.

Go back and tell AJ and JN we don't want them near the club any longer, slowly killing the club like a cancer.

Andy, you do great work for the club and supporters. I have seen tweets etc. go out late at night during the season. I realise how hard you work to keep fans informed. It's easy shooting the messenger and, having worked in the media, know that it's not easy sitting on things until the appropriate time for release.
Like all supporters we are desperate for news, positive news for once, and hope that you can bring us that via twitter/website ASAP.
Best of luck.

He is not very good at what he does simply because of the two idiots he works for.
If they had their way he would be redundant as they hate any information getting out of the club.

www.newsandstar.co.uk/carlisle-united/jon-colman/act-now-or-prepare-for-fans-backlash-1.1218035Interesting article by Jon Coleman - making valid points that I think everyone else is asking..........the silence is deafening and Andy, I challenge you to find anyone not called Nixon/Jenkins/Pattinson who believes this billionaire actually exists..... also - you say that AJ says he cannot do interviews: well: a) that looked suspiciously like an interview yesterday on the Official Site and b) he CAN come out and say unequivocally that Steve Pattinson will NEVER be on the board of Carlisle United again - that would take some of the heat out of the situation...... I remember you once saying that Mark K was a lot more complicated than people thought and if only he'd let you publish the interview he gave you, people would see that....he didn't, you didn't (100% correctly) and his name is total mud to the point I doubt he dare come back to Carlisle....it would be a shame if AJ didn't learn from that mistake and a bigger shame if you didn't explain that to those two...learning from mistakes is, after all, the essence of History...

Why does Andy even come on here? He's obviously the puppet on a string, loves being the bearer of good news then does one when the going gets tough. Before anybody says his hands are tied or whatever if that's the case don't bother coming on antagonising people leave it to Phil King from now on.you're like a broken record.

Combining Jon colman's points above and one someone made on the "wot if you won the euromillions thread", a "billionaire" making a ****-poor 3% yield on his cash, shares, property etc would have made over £2 million in interest since "talks" started. They simply wouldn't spend that much time buggering about deciding whether to buy us, or look at the books to see if we owed the gas man £300, it would be a yes or no.

If I were Phil King, I think I would be getting in my car and driving across the A69 as fast as possible, asking for my old job back at Sunderland, then rejoicing in a lucky escape.

Whoever them two employ are going to have their hands tied and such is the deserved vitriol at the moment surrounding the club anything the new guy tries to get going will be met with suspicion and contempt.
Under Lapping we would be more likely to accept and trust him.
Basically another puppet working for the devil.

You realise that Andy can only give updates on things when he receives information to update is on ? Moaning to him about a lack of updates/vision is as much use as moaning to the girls at the ticket office about ticket prices. Actually moaning to him is not a bad idea, especially if the moans, and the general fan feeling is being passed on to the harbingers of doom. There is such ill will towards those two at the moment that they obviously need to know about it. There are even comments on the facebook page about this, where before the happy clappers shouted everyone, with the temerity to disagree with the party line, down immediately. I suspect that the two of them read some of what is said, and I know Steve Pattison certainly used to, but I'm not sure if they really understand how vehement some of this is. Surely the other side of Andy's job has to be to report back to them how disastrous their policy of not talking to the fans actually is. I don't really suppose it will make even the slightest difference to either of them anyway. I also know that there are people who are actually emailing the two of them fairly regularly anyway. Andy is in a bad situation, he obviously has to show loyalty to the people he works for, but his job is to get information out to us. If there is no useful information forthcoming it has to be a serious frustration to him. The reality is, though, that they have now gone way too far with this and the fans are completely alienated to the point where whatever those pair say is sneered at, and what Andy tells us is treated, in general, with contempt, because he is being used by them either to try burying bad news, or to cover the fact that they've nothing to say. This mystery billionaire is a massive case in point, he/she obviously does not exist, but they had to get something out there in order to cover up the shock at the Lapping deal being binned. They used Andy to push a part of that, now when it comes out he/she doesn't actually exist, they'll be trying to stick the blame for it on him for letting information out. I'm pretty sure Andy is almost walking a tightrope in there, he's stuck between the fans' need for information of any kind, and the owners need to keep everything quiet, can't be easy.

Part of the problem is that, as usual, they've miscalculated their strategy by quite some distance. As you say moorlad, making up the millionaire as a plausible way of kicking the Lapping deal into touch is exactly the type of clumsy and badly thought out stunt we've come to expect from them.
However what they probably expected was that they'd just be able to quietly coast along for a bit before making the now-inevitable "talks have broken down" announcement, and that would be that.
What they almost certainly won't have expected is to be hounded for information like they're now being, and certainly not to have to deal with demands to actually reveal who this 'person' is. This has put them into full-scale panic mode (Lord Clark being wheeled out and so on), and they're probably still making it up on the spot as we speak. An utter shambles.

It all goes to underline that these two are totally incompetent at running a football club and are rapidly heading towards being the worst owners we have ever had.

I absolutely agree with that, and the fact is they can't back down now. They can't say there was no billionaire in the first place, and they can't say it was something that has been misinterpreted, it has all gone on far too long. They really have mad a rod for their own back.
On your Lord Clark issue, I would have thought he would have had much more sense (having spoken to him in the past) than to have allowed himself to have been dragged in to this, unless he'd known something. But from what we all hear, only 2 people know the actual truth here for certain, so Lord Clatk has been suckered I believe, and dragged in to defending the indefensible.
I'm sure you're right also that they hadn't expected the reaction of the fans to be quite so vehement in demanding answers, after all we never really have been in the past (except for a little while with Knighton). However the signs have been there that the support for them has been wavering steadily for some time and somebody at the club should have spotted this coming and pointed it out to them (unfortunately Andy is the only person with his finger anywhere near the pulse of the fans, and he has obviously either felt he couldn't tell them, or has been ignored when he did).

That's probably because until AL came along we've not had an actual alternative - never mind one that is, on the face of it, so much better than the current regime. We've been crying out for a more dynamic board and leadership, for people to come in and run the club like a business, having the new MD and Sales appointments being accountable to the board etc most of us could all see a brighter future for the club... but they've pulled the rug from under it all and gone back to how they've communicated in the past - a big mistake bearing in mind how open and responsive AL has been with us all.

They will bumble on so unfortunately, it's unlikely that this will come to a head until the new season starts, because it's only then that they will come face to face with the fans to any significant degree. Goodness only knows what the mood of the people will be by then, because it's close to a lynch mob now.

To be honest Pete, I haven't been counting. But it would appear that they still haven't met with him, or they'd have at least mentioned that they had. That being the case there seems to be only a couple of conclusions to be drawn. Either our lot aren't that interested in meeting him, or he's not that interested in meeting them. If it were the former then any sensible person would have pulled out, if it were the latter then he couldn't care less about the club and we don't want him.
Of course the real explanation is that he simply doesn't exist.

It's a funny thing though, have a look at the facebook posts, not everyone sees any sort of problem, in fact there are some posters on there backing them to the hilt. Even on here there are people who actually believe they are acting in our best interests. This whole thing is not cut and dried. It is often the case that the views of people opposing any sort of a regime are far louder than those supporting it, and the numbers don't become clear until it is brought to a head. It may well be they have significant quiet support - see the recent General Election result. I am hoping that the vast majority of people have seen them for what they are, but I seriously have my doubts, and in any case they will be confident of riding out any storm of protests, particularly if the team manages a reasonable start to the season. In fact the longer this all continues the more worried I become.

Despite all the conspiracy theories and Nixon & Jenkin's obvious failures I find it hard to believe the wealthy investor is just made up.
That would be crazy and I don't think they'd have the temerity to think they could get away with it.
You'd believe it of Knighton but not of Nixon & jenkins.

Bluestblue - re the hostility and the potential atmosphere, under normal circumstances I'd have said that this message board is sometimes a bit of a mini pressure cooker and not necessarily representative of the wider fan base, in other words that we're sometimes a bit of a vocal minority on here.
However, after reading Jon Coleman's article at the weekend, I'm not so sure any more. He basically summed up the general feeling on here very well, and I now reckon this is in fact very much the feeling among the wider fan base as well.
This is probably largely down to Andrew getting his message across very well via the local media - in other words, going through the channels that this message board and others don't usually reach.

Why Nobby?
They'd painted themselves into a corner when they threw out the Lapping deal, they had to have a fall back position. What better position than some other deal which would be attractive to fans? What would they think, automatically, would be the most attractive? Yeah, big money. I just don't believe they realise how out of touch with the normal fans of the club they have become. Their swanning it around with the Football League and FA grates on a lot of people, their treatment of the fans over the past few years has been shocking, their disregard of any other opinion than their own has been obvious for years, and any goodwill they had for "stepping into the breach" has been gone for ages. They are still thinking we'll swallow anything they tell us, they regard us as stupid and ignorant, they see fans as a bit of a necessary evil to be treated with utter disdain.
Do you honestly believe any billionaire would spend the best part of a month having discussions with those two lunatics? Having spoken to them once he'd want them out of the way before any more damage can be done. If he wants to invest in a football club, as soon as he realised these two want to keep running things so they can keep their noses in the League and FA troughs he'd have gone elsewhere. He certainly wouldn't be hanging round after almost a month waiting for them to agree to see him.

I haven't just formed my opinion from the messageboard or from Jon Coleman's excellent article, which I feel sums up the mood more eloquently than I ever could. Everyone of my friends I have spoken with about this are of the same voice, no-one is saisfied with the current limbo. I would also add that these people I have discusssed this with generally come from the moderate side of the supporters and are not the vociferous types who comment about everything as time goes by. I really do think that the worm has most certainly made a very clear u-turn

I read Coleman's article Bluestblue, and also read between the lines of it. He knows, as we do, that there is nobody waiting in the wings to bail us out, or even to offer a little helping hand. If there was such a billionaire why would he even consider only holding less than a controlling interest in something which he was going to throw money at? Why would he join such a venture and allow himself to be dictated to by two hopeless old duffers who have proven conclusively they are incapable of running an orgy in a brothel? Where Coleman could be right is the backlash awaiting the two old idiots, even if I'm right and there are more Nixon and Jenkins supporters than expected, the whole thing could turn horribly nasty. Is that what we want for our club? Do we want to see us on national telly and in the papers trying to hound them out? Do we want to risk showing the entire football world that we're even more tinpot than they thought we were?
I worry how all this will go, because they'll definitely be still stringing us along at the start of the season. Will it affect the players? It will certainly affect the crowds, and even if we turn up in large numbers, the bad feeling will be tangible on the pitch and that also might affect performance. This is actually my lowest ebb during my support of Carlisle United, and my old man first took me right at the start of the '70s, so around 45 years. This is worse than Knighton, at least he generally had stuff to say, and was a bit entertaining. These two are just slowly and steadily squeezing the life out of the club.

For what it's worth, official CUFC seems as much part of it as the rest of them as far as I can see it. Who was it who made the appeal for all dissent to be shelved until the end of the season - a tactic so see through as to be laughable. If there had been a game coming up when they kicked AL into the long grass, they would surely have been lynched. He is sitting in a dream job for a supporter, so don't kid yourself where his number one priority lies.

Oh aye, and I have no problem with that, he wants to keep his job. I've had to do things I didn't agree with because I wanted to keep a job in the past.
They need to know which way the wind is blowing though, and he's the man to tell them.
