If he is the "proven big target man, consistent goal scorer" Jenkins' family relative was mouthing off about us signing, then I hope he keeps his hand in his pocket.

Fair enough if that's the sh*t you want to watch, personally I don't. If we sign him he won't even get into double figures. I've just explained to you that it's not. You're thinking of Showunmi I know exactly who I am on about thank you. Scored against us in a crap wet,Tuesday night game for Orient when they won 1-0 up here after yet another Matty Glennon howler. The furthest North he's played at is Walsall on full contract terms so the only reason he'd be coming to us is because we'd be his only offer. If this mysterious Billionaire is waiting in the wings how come why are we signing someone looking for a last decent contract?

But he hasn't spent his career playing in hoof it teams and has much more to his game than that, that's why I thought you might be thinking of someone else.

Just mentioned it to a Walsall fan and he says he'd still be an excellent signing for any League 2 team. He also says hold up play is one of Ibehre's main strengths which should compliment midfielders like Dempsey and Kennedy who will hopefully be going forwards when possible.

He sounds like a good catch if we manage to get him. Knowing the way our board work they will probably try to sign ched Evans to take the heat off themselves.
Whatever happened to him anyway?

I'd still have Ched to be honest. Nobody ended up signing him because as soon as it was suggested all of the sponsors threatened to back out.

As a midfielder I would love him in my team if he shows the form he is capable of,Danny Livesey always said he wasn't bothered about his goal threat,it was that he took 2 defenders out of the game to allow others to capatilise. He will have other offers for sure. I assume by this post that you've not heard anything yourself then? If Radio Cumbria follow him on Twitter there must be something in it, get digging!

I can only imagine that he doesn't have much of a case seeing as his girlfriend's family is filthy rich and can afford amazing lawyers and yet the conviction still hasn't been overturned.

Exactly the type of player we should be looking at.
Realistically, which of our current forwards are opposition defenders going to be afraid of ? Can't see Wyke,Rigg or Asamoah giving many people nightmares (assuming the transfer listed ones leave)

Ibehre would be good to have around considering Beck, Rigg and Wyke are all still young and inexperienced. He could teach Beck a thing or two for sure.

If this mysterious Billionaire is waiting in the wings how come why are we signing someone looking for a last decent contract? I think he'd be a good signing, for the highlighted reason above, he's not a fancy player but cb's are not going to fancy spending 90 minutes trying to match his physicality on a wet Tuesday night, he's experienced, he would be a good foil for rigg wyke and the cm's to play off, tiring out defenders and creating space and time for our other players. if he were to come on board it probably leaves us needing 2 wingers, maybe then bring in a few players on trial and see if we can pick up the next zoko or hackney on the cheap.

To be honest I think Wyke Rigg and even Paynter could score goals in this league if we got a couple of decent wide men in
Its creating chances that have been the problem no creativity = no goals.Kearns was the biggest flop for me last season thought we had a good one there

To be fair goals weren't really the problem last season. Ibehre is just a more practical player to have in that he'll hold to ball up and do the dirty work, taking some of the pressure off the rest of the team.

Exactly the role Paynter performed in the vital win over Plymouth?

But can you really see Curle willingly making Paynter a first team player next season? Regardless of whether he's had one or two good games I'd say his game time here will be limited to when others are injured, and if that's the case we'll need someone else to fill a similair role. Ibehre is better than Paynter as well to be fair.

Ibehre is much more mobile and agile compared to Paynter. He can play off the shoulder as he can actually run.
Unless of course he's completely lost it over the past year or so.

I didn't know we had so many Ibehre experts, who've followed his career!

He's been going for a good while so I would imagine anyone who follows/watches League 1 and 2 football would know about him a bit?
Plus it's not hard to know he's more mobile than Paynter. Paynter is about as mobile as the caravan he stays in.

I didn't know we had so many Ibehre experts, who've followed his career! I haven't followed his career, but I've seen him play a few times as until last season we've been in the same division as him since 05/06. I've probably seen him play as many times as I've seen Paynter play, to be fair.

Paynter is about as mobile as the caravan he stays in. Caravans are very mobile actually. They can move about quite easily, unlike a house. Hence the name mobile homes.
