I was chatting with an immediate family member whose family have a long standing close affinity with CUFC earlier. I jokingly asked if he was going to give me any inside info. He told me ,
"There is a investor very interested in the club , talks have been held but due to the other numerous business interests worldwide , its difficult to get everyone together for talks."
"Curle has a proven big target man , consistent goalscorer lined up , who wants to come to the club, due to things being up in the air and not wanting to lose this player , monies have been asked for from the family . However , where this has never been an issue previously , the attitude now is why should we bother, no better thought on , the family member I was talking to was quite vocal in saying , I look at the message board and see some of the stuff written on there about my family and think **** them don't hand another penny over, if he had his way that's what would happen. "
He was quite scathing about this board and I got the impression they visit quite frequently. Dont shoot the messenger please. I am just posting what was a very enlightening chat.

If the family member visits this board quite frequently - does that not mean that you could be in the pooh?
Did this person not see the point of Laffy's argument that CUFC depending on the largess of one man/family, whilst it has helped us loads in the past, is unsustainable?

Most people are very much appreciative of AJ and his support if that is who you refer to. This board is merely a snapshot of the general mood in the county towards the club. People really want to get behind what is going on but the people at the top make us feel so bloody unwanted it is no surprise folk get angry.

Well if he's reading this, he can lick my sweaty ball sack! And while hes down there I thought it was common knowledge a certain persons family didnt want him to put anymore money in so its hardly a revelation. Theres a very easy way for him not to have to dip into his pockets though. Walk away and let someone else have a go. BTW to the OP What have we to be careful what we wish for about?.

Why should he bother well how about him and his two sidekicks totally rogering a club that was on the brink of the championship and tbh I now wish he'd never bothered at all. Far too much bothering by the senile old ***** about thei money they will lose for my liking.

I had a good chat with him to be fair mash , he knows I am a long standing fan , but also he was very passionate as I would be, and hope you would be, in sticking up for his family, some of the stuff posted on here is shocking and very personal and if I was in their position and did come on this board it would certainly get to me.

And if I was in their position parklands, I'd be more open & honest with the supporters of Carlisle United. I wouldn't claim to be some sort of hero for having to dip into my own wealth to cover my own incompetence.

If is true that due to the unfortunate illness that Mr Jenkins has then his sons are his 'voice' and decision makers on his behalf?
If that us the case then it was his sons that also helped pull the Lapping deal.
Bunch of c unts cut from the same cloth.

Guys , I thought long and hard whether to make the post as I knew it could divide opinion, but for me the over riding aspect was family , something that means a great deal to me as the father of 3 girls, he was just making, in my opinion a passionate defence of his family , surely that is not to be derided putting aside any CUFC issues

If this isn't a windup, tell the tw@ts to put up or feck off.
Either invest or hand the reigns to laffy - a real person with ambition and vision for this club.
This forum is frequented by a representative cross section of CUFC fans. If you don't like us take your hands off and get out of our way. If you aren't prepared to do that, then get ready for the inevitable consequences.

If, assuming that this is genuine, Jenkins's family have been ruffled by the last few weeks of comments on here then everyone deserves a round of applause.
There's a lot more that needs to be done to push to incompetents out of the club, this sort of endorsement should add fuel to the fire.

In today's world people have many facets to their lives: Career/worklife, family, social commitments and it can be hard balancing them all. Juggling them can be difficult and when one infringes on another you have to reassess your life. Most people face this at various points in their life. OK, not everyone is a local public figure who is the subject of internet speculation and criticism, but the underlying principle is the same for everyone. If any board member is struggling with this or feels their business/family is suffering due to their involvement with CUFC then I genuinely feel for them; But they should be able to make a decision and prioritise their commitments. They have had a takeover offer after all, so options are available to them.

I had a little affection for Jenkins but after recent events he needs to go as soon as possible.
It's no coincidence that when he's at the helm we have struggled and he's had to put money in. It's easy walk away and accept Lappings deal and we will be self sufficient that we don't need to rely on anybody. Simple business.
We've had enough of Jenkins he's been here for far longer than required time to go. If you can't the heat get out the kitchen.

On behalf of the board is like to apologise to the family for any ill feeling and also offer my warmest thanks for the excellent job their old man has done over the past few years.
