Ha ha, I said ability to control a ball. Scoring 8 goals doesn't mean he has a good touch does it? His strength is carrying the ball and getting to advanced positions that's it. No sour grapes he's gone as I didn't rate him that highly when he was here. Edit to add a sore toe doesn't make u get knocked off the ball easily. Yes it does if your in pain you do try don't want to be battling for the ball, also his touch is of course affected by a broken toe, he'll go higher and do well i have no doubt.

well he's gone so he's not our problem any more. i agree with walwyn, his first touch was generally shocking which resulted in his second touch having to be a tackle.

I have arthritis in my big toe and I can tell you when its playing up it friggin painful and is actually very hard to run on never mind kick a ball too if his pain was owt like that I can imagine why his form and fitness went to pot
to have it dismissed as a sore toe so flippantly would end up with my big toe aimed at the hecklers balls to get some feeling of the pain

I've said on numerous occasions if he was too injured to play then he wouldn't have been playing. He may well go on and do well but I'm not too concerned that he's gone tbh. Anyhow it's all immaterial until we get new owners.

Glad to see the back of him, he would have quite happily seen us relegated, couldn't give a toss about us.
He was also crap by the way, so good riddance to bad rubbish.

McDonald probably doesn't even want him but he knows we did. just another revenge attack, like the managerial position 'i'll sign once fred apologises' then ****ed off back to west ham out of spite. Do you really blame McDonald for telling us to sod off last season after he met with our BOD to talk to them about their plans? As far as I heard it he was keen to join but fealt the timing was wrong for him.... I'd say he was entirely correct to stay at West Ham given the crappy predicament we were, and still are, in.
Pottsy was very impressed with McDonald and his plans when he spoke to him and it only took him a couple of minutes to make the decision to sign for him. You can hardly blame him... he has a very low opinion of KC, as do the majority of the current squad.

I would imagine KC and the rest of the squad have a very low opinion of Potts also, seeing as he went AWOL during our relegation fight.

Fair enough he broke his toe and had a poor end of the season. The previous season he went missing and had no stomach for the fight at all.
For me he's been very good for a few games each season and a passenger in most.
He has potential but he's yet to prove it consistently, so I'm happy to see him go as he doesn't want to be here.
I'm sure we probably got 200K and 15% of any sell on. That's a good price for someone who can only perform 10 games a season.

From what I heard, the fee is a bit more (some based apps etc) but the sell-on is double that. Good deal really, if he's actually any good, we'll get a decent wedge in the end.

Excellent deal if that's the case! I was always of the opinion out of all the young lads selling Potts would be a good move if we kept Dempsey and Gillespie. I think Dempsey will go up in value the more he plays so fingers crossed we keep him at least till Jan/May 2016

Totally agree daviejones the lads got a bright future. I think he's actually better off staying with us for now at least for another season or even 18 months. He'll get regular football here and then, hopefully, get a move straight into a championship side.
