Andrew will no doubt be fuming. Other investors too! A lot of work and effort has gone in to get to this stage and now Mr Nixon and Mr Jenkins theaten to put a spanner in the works. How much will this delay things? It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Lapping and co just walked away.

Absolute disgrace. It's like some old regime desperately clinging onto power. They had money coming in and fan/trust support. Screw 'em.

joncolman: Spoken to Andrew Lapping. Fair to say he is shocked by these developments and reluctant to wait around while club assesses new offer. So basically if this new investment doesn't go through we're back to square one.

This does not sound good. As others have said - sounds like they are grasping for an alternative to Lapping. Wouldn't be surprised if Laffy pulled out as a result and this new group never materialises, leaving the current gang in charge.
I understand they want to get the best deal, although is that for themselves or the club?
We also now look completely tin pot as we have had Laffy being involved in the decision making e.g. new Marketing Manager and MD. Whats going to happen to those positions? Cant imagine decent candidates want to hold on in limbo whilst Nixon and Jenkins bumble around for a few more months. Why have we even gone to the bother of advertising/recruiting these people if the deal with Laffy was not done?

Lapping is "Shell shocked", Nixon rang him an hour ago. So kept out of the loop. Says he heard something 24hrs ago "went quiet" and accountants stood down. Sounds defeated?
Says he came forward to "help Club" then step back.
"Don't know what to say, I'm shaking. He's ****ed off"
He swore!!!

The worry here is we stagnate for 6 more months before any investments. By which time we are bottom of the League.
wonder if the trust have found this consortium in a bid to keep control of there 25%. Any new deal that reduced their stock would need a new vote and waste more time.
****ed off by this. Our club is run by a pack of useless *****

joncolman: Steel says the trust vote to dilute their shares was only relating to the Lapping plan. Would need to consult members again re new approach

Nixon has asked Lapping to "Step aside for 2-3 weeks" whilst other bid looks at books etc. He's spent 9 months of life sorting this. Deffo sounds down.
Says he was ready to sort a new MD, with past Football Experience, who took a Club to PL from nowhere. Bloke was at his house interviewing Commercial candidates yesterday. Deal was to be done for 1st July...

Lapping was warned about Nixon the slimy old ****.
If this new investment means he stays at the club for the foreseeable he wants his ******* face kicked in

Norman Steel is surprised "came out the Blue". Knew nothing about investment developments. Says dilution was only for Lappings deal. But that's his personal opinion and needs to speak to Trust Board.
Trust need to check all rules, liked Lapping deal as burden of running Club was taken from 1 individual. Local businessman angle appealed. He's disappointed.
Won't answer if those in charge don't want to leave, not on air he chuckles.
Hes asked questions but got no answers yet. No clue who they are.

I don't believe that there's any serious investment proposals.
Nothing will happen, they want things to remain exactly the same. They'll be hoping and preying that Lapping just pulls the plug on it and things can go back to normal in the old boys club.

Lapping thinks Nixon doesn't want to step down, no sh!t!
Doesn't want to be second best, he wants to help Club. Timing is appalling he says.
Hate to think he's been used, especially after sorting the things holding Club back.
Trust has to have a good look at what they do.

Where has this 'multi million' investment come from? Nixon/Jenkins have consistently said there was nobody out there wanting to pump millions in. Now on the verge of Lappings takeover that kind of offer miraculously appears. Convenient to say the least.

My money is on Lapping not having the money by the required date and Jenkins having a letter from Lapping's people saying that the money isn't in place.
Can't wait for Lapping to deny it and Jenkins to produce the letter

The slimy bunch of f ucks have the smell of money in their nostrils, maybe SP will return as well.
Why on earth would you trust a faceless bunch of foreign investors over local businessmen who are fans?
What's to say that they don't mind shelling out a million for four million worth of land?
