The money was in place and the prospect of more. It's funny this party haven't been named. I was worried something like this Wouod happen. Jenkins and Nixon are two faced horrible people. Don't go Andrew fight fight fight the supporters are with you and were behind your plan. We don't want no 5 year deal if it's true!!!!! We want a fully self sufficient well ran club. Why don't you get Lapping on here to say categorically how much money was to be paid, when it was to be paid by and that it was definitely in place. The longer Lapping takes to come on here and say the money was ready to pay over, the less inclined I am to believe him. And what is the betting that it is a £25K investor who wants a hostile takeover ? Only 12 posts I see :-) He's been on radio. I do not know him well personally. He will no doubt come on here.

Very disappointed Mullen wasn't first with this. Clearly slipping... he's to busy converting his basement into a dungeon to keep laffy captive.

If anything at least Knighton can say he took the club forward before leaving it to rot. This fat c**t Nixon and his mates have put the club on a downward slope since the day Story left.

Lapping has gone very quiet on here. If the deal is off its because he can't deliver. Are you related to Nixon by any chance? Do you have any proof to back your claims up? Or are they just unfounded allegations? If Laffy didnt have the money why would the current board concoct an elaborate cover story involving other investors? Would they not just say its fallen through due to lack of finance on laffys part. As we are banding around complete conjecture, a more likely scenario is this - Nixon/Jenkins never wanted to sell. They like the power, they like the prestige, they like the cushy FA/FL positions. The heat was put on them last season and low and behold they start talking to laffy. Gets to the end of the season, we have survived, and now they turn their attention to staying firmly in control. They cant renege on the laffy deal just by saying they dont want to give up the perks. The fans would be in revolt. So they come up with some vague 'foreign investment offer' as an excuse to put the deal on hold. Laffy walks away, the new investors never materialise (suprise, suprise) and the current incumbents have an excuse to stay in charge. Hows that for an unfounded allegation?

**** all to do with money not being in place. It's a lot of investors (some of whom will be worth a hell of a lot of money) chucking in minimum £25,000 apiece.
Bit like any of us throwing £25 at it.
It's nowt AL won't have had to deal with before, ******* amateurs like Nixon and Jenkins.

Interesting, I hope for JN's credibility sake it is true. Andrew Lapping has won the PR Campaign on here, hands down. However if another ' GOOD' offer has come forward, then it is the Directors responsibility to look into it. However, how do you deal with PR fall out ?
Andrew Lapping is an experienced funder, he will be able to smell it a mile away if his deal is going through.
Personally I would go 50/50 only

Will they not stop until our club is buried!? I'm sick to ******* death of the custodians! Them b*stards took something half decent and sh*t all over it to the point we were nearly a non league side and now this!
Andrew Lappings had the decency to spend 9 months sorting this complete mess out and attempted to move us forward and for what? Nixon to start playing mind games when we're so close to something potentially fantastic!
Time for a protest! 2/3000 of the very best supporters in the country demanding our club be rid of these incompetant pieces of sh*t!

Just to throw two names into the mix that may not of been mentioned. frank lynch??? Frank Lynch yes he has the money but after what he did with Celtic Nation not a chance anyone would trust him. The lapping deal has to go through. When someone has the fans backing they hold the power not the current BOD

"Unlike the cash injection Lapping's deal promised, the new investors would be signing up to a three to five year deal", must be pretty far on talks wise if that is true.

As someone said earlier they've used the Lapping situation to appease fans and take heat off them.
Jenkins statement re Pattison said it all last week - they are intent on destroying this club

I will wait to see what happens next but at the moment I'm deeply concerned. I've not heard the RC interview living out the county. Is it online?
To allow it to get to this stage and then spring this is disgraceful no matter who has come in. There is no transparency, professionalism or integrity from the current board and they are treating us all with contempt.
I don't know Mr lapping but from what I've read he has the credentials and the ambition to succeed. He is also a huge fan which is what they said they were looking for. Whoever this unnamed mystery new group are this is a terrible way to treat people and to conduct business but it is at least consistent with the way they have ran the club for years.
I would ask AL not to walk away. He may very well get to take over and rid the club of this masonic gentleman's club currently presiding over the decline.

Is it not in part an invitation to ask Lapping to fight for it?
Other thought is that Lapping may have had another management team lined up, Curle has got word of it and been up to Nixon/Patt/ and said something along the lines of "we're all gonna be out of the job here if he comes in." etc.
