Some Liverpool fans talking about Simeone like he would just up sticks and head to Anfield within seconds.

Who actually gives a **** about Liverpool anyway?
Do all other clubs deserve a thread?
Maybe they do!

They had nothing yesterday, bullied and out played. Even sterling is know looking poor and uninterested. Is the talk of Madrid getting to him?

As I stated a while ago on this board, they we're looking ****, Gerrard needs dropped, defence is shocking, they could do with Begovic in nets, but to be honest I didn't expect them being this ****.

Me either, put 3 of there players in my dreamteam, fooking wise move that! Not sure what they can do either, moneys spent, cannot for the life of me see what he must of been thinking when he bought all these players. How can you raid southampton 3 times but miss clyne? long couple of years for them.

I agreed with Gary Nevilles telegraph article recently, people's expectations have been far too high after last season.
With Suarez they finished 7th under Dalgleish and Rodgers, last season was an incredible overacheivment and one that wasn't going to be sustainable in a million years, even if Suarez had stayed. Not only did they lose Suarez but they've gone and had last season's second top scorer out, what are people expecting? Finishing top 4 was always going to be a stretch no matter what, the calls for him to be fired are a symptom of this country's short term thinking these days.

Sacking Rodgers would be silly. They'll just end up being stuck in limbo like they were for the 5 or so years prior to his arrival.
Also, did anyone see Bruce Grobbelaar's interview with the BBC? He seems to be pinning nearly all of their failures on Simon Mignolet. Fair play he's had a shocking season so far but he played virtually every game last season and they ended up finishing second. Bruce seems to be forgetting the fact that they don't have the cutting edge or pace in the attack that they had last season (The loss of Suarez is a big factor in this). Their defence is also very poor when compared to the likes of City or Chelski.

Their defence and keeper were bad last season but they were still able to outscore teams as they had Suarez in unbelievable form and Sterling and Sturridge fed off that. This year, they have nobody on form up front, playing Balotelli has sapped the entire team of energy and the defence is under more pressure because teams are less afraid of being caught on the counter attack. They overachieved last season and are underchieving this season.

The fact that their most useful (fit) striker at this point is Rickie Lambert says a lot about where they're at right now. Balotelli is a massive flop due to his laziness and frankly laughable finishing, Sterling has been their only shining light from the games i've seen of theirs and he's been pretty quiet recently too. Gerrard is just about finished unfortunately, he's not the player he was and right now it seems like he's living off some 40 yard diagonal passes. Johnson is useless and Skrtel can only defend if he's got a handful of the striker's shirt.
Unfortunately for Liverpool there are flaws all over, it just made me laugh watching Grobbelaar's interview, the way he was speaking made it sound like he was of the opinion that if Liverpool got a better keeper in then they would instantly start winning every game.

I do believe if they bought Begovic it would install some belief into the defence. Am no fan of Skrtel at all. Think he is a root cause of they're problems. Agree Gerrard needs dropped, plus that Coutinho is ****. Lost Suarez and Sturridge injured, it's like Chelsea not having Costa or United no Rvp and Rooney. Mashi that was my last raider post don't worry, don't report me!

Mashi that was my last raider post don't worry, don't report me! Begovic is a very solid keeper, he might well be a good fit for Liverpool. Then again, Mignolet was viewed as a star by many when he was at Sunderland. Perhaps it's a case of his performances being scrutinized a lot more due to him playing for a bigger side. Maybe he just needs a kick up the arse like the one Joe Hart got. There's not much competition for his place in the side, perhaps if they bring someone in in January to provide a challenge it might force Mignolet to up his game.

Always think he is a very good shot stopper but weak in nigh on every other area Mignolet.

Likes of Shilton, Seaman, Scheimchel installed belief into the defence in front of them, that's exactly what Liverpool need. Plus play Lovren and Toure, both warriors on the pitch together, with not so gung ho full backs! Johnson is garbage at defending. Clyne would have been a good addition. Maybe Gerrard sitting in front of the defence doesn't help he is too imposing, his character, he is maybe knocking there confidence being played in that position, I would prefer Lucas in that position. Play Henderson in the engine room role which he is suited to, to free the more talented, skillful players. Until Sturridge is back with a rested Sterling they are not going to score a great deal of goals. Lambert for time being deserves a run. When they got the Suarez money they needed to get a Sanchez, Benzema, even offer City 80 million for Aguero, Costa was available, that's what they needed a world class striker, a warning shot to the other top teams, but no they got that idiot Mario!

Did I just hear that right? Jamie Carragher calling another club's fans "classless". You couldn't make it up!
Good luck to Basel this evening.
