Well that is a very well structured deal in our favour. I honestly expected him to be off so to have a potential second year based on appearances is a very nice bonus.

We have to be reasonably happy with that, it seems Curle has got his act together, and he's getting the squad he would like gradually sorted out.

We should have waited until the billionaire comes in as De Gea is wanting a move.

If he does well and stays injury free and he then has the option of an additional year he may not take it depending on whether any other clubs come in for him. That being said, I'm more than happy he's signed and have my fingers crossed he can steer clear of injuries.

Interesting he has commented on AJ and the potential new investment via Twitter after confirming his contract. Asked to do so by the custodians?

Gillespie says:
"Also had a good chat with the chairman. He assured me progress is being made on the direction the club takes at the top going forward."
"In my view, someone who's put 50+ years of life and money into CUFC is only going 2 want the best possible outcome for the club and the fans"

He must have had one to many bang to the head.

With all due respect to Gillespie, he hasn't been paying to watch that shite for the last 25 years. He's probably just got a nice little pay rise and will only end up play 3/4 of next season (if he's lucky). I'd be kissing AJ's arse if I'd got a new deal too. Clown!

This from the interview in the N&S today:
"I’m trying to repay them for that over the next year, and hopefully two.”
You'd think from this it's a clause in our favour, automatically triggered?
