Great news, probably only a year but who cares. Now to make sure he stays fit. Still no word on Potts but i'd say the writing's on the wall for that one.

Not good at all, 2 or 3 years would be good news an injury free good season will see him leave to a higher division for pennies.
He is obviously a good keeper just had a few minor injuries, that isn't going to repeat itself through his career, shorted sightedness to only tie him down for another season.

The length of the deal hasn't been mentioned anywhere. No need to panic just yet. Although I reckon it could be an initial one year with clauses to increase the length should he stay injury free.

Has everybody forgot about Asamoah? Or does nobody care whether he stays or goes?

I think we'll only be getting another year out of him considering he already supposedly had interest from the likes of Blackpool. We'd lose him for free as well, he'll be outside the compensation age next year.

But didnt it say in the en&s a while back that they had both been offered long term deals ? so if long term means 1 year then the clubs fucked

What are people basing their assumptions of it being a 1 year deal on?

Great news! Class keeper Gillespie and good that he's standing by the club after his injuries. Lets hope we can keep hold of him and we do sell him on for big bucks further down the line.

He's only staying because Blackpool have already signed a keeper this week. He would be off with Potts if they hadn't. There's not much loyalty nowadays.

I wouldn't say too much until he's actually signed. If I was him I'd be looking elsewhere the way things are going.

He's signing the deal tomorrow, followed by an interview on Radio Cumbria. I'll be interested to hear how long it is, 2 years would be a very nice surprise.

If we could have kept 2 of the 3 between dempsey potts and Gillespie I'd have been happy to see potts be the one to leave. Brough is getting better and other youngsters might step up this year which is promising. The emergence of Rigg, Atkinson and Buddle is good news too. Things might be awful off the pitch but we have some hope on it so far.

We don't have anyone at the club who's good enough to replace Gillespie so it was vital we got him back. Dempsey and Potts both have ample competition in their position but Potts is definitely the more replaceable of the two. As long as we've got a sell-on clause for if he does do well, I'm fine with him going.
