There's room for another CUFC board, shame it appears to be antagonistic toward the other board.

a) only doing his job with the tools available b) a bit of a pain actually c) a bit of a pain actually d) irrelevant e) irrelevant f) irrelevant The fact that its not a patch on what it was 10 years ago And the main reason for that is down to the local moderator and his attitude and the best thing he could have done was make it over 16.s only and become a voice of the fans who dont fall for the bullshit eminating from the boardroom at B.P. but instead he chose to get in the pocket of the club and the local builder the then owner and try to become a minor local media celebrety. Had he done that Abbott could have been forced out a good 2 years earlier He clearly no longer has any interest in it so i dont see why he doesnt get out. The site was down for a week and has now been back up for 72 hours without a hint of an explanation or apology from either footymad themselves or even better its local moderator it really doesnt deserve to survive.

I have never met the guy but Tash always strikes me as honest, open and hard working in what must be a difficult role.

"He clearly no longer has any interest in it so i dont see why he doesnt get out."
I think that's incredibly harsh. Have you had a good look around the Footymad site ?- not just the messageboard. The site is a goldmine of accurate stats and facts going back many years, particularly in the Youth and Reserve sections, those sort of stats are often lost to fans over the years. They take time and effort to assemble and keep accurate.
I dont know what has been/is wrong with the footymad site but obviously its not caused at the Carlisle end as all sites were down at some point.
I cannot see any reason why there can't be two message boards, there has been several in the past and they have got along without pulling each other to bits. However if that is going to be the aim of this board I'm sure I wont be alone in thinking it isnt for me.

I cannot see any reason why there can't be two message boards, there has been several in the past and they have got along without pulling each other to bits. Indeed, messageboards come and go. FootyMad rumbles on perpetually. It is not a matter of technical proficiency or style etc. It is about all-round awareness, popularity and existing user-base. I.e. Everyone knows of Skype, it started in 2003 and became big worldwide before anyone else had put together a substantial rival system. It now dominates the market place despite there being numerous technically better competitors who also provide for free that which Skype charges for. FootyMad does not have to be better than any one club's messageboard. Since it covers clubs all over the mainland UK it can offer a lot of advertising options to perpetually sustain itself.

I agree donald, i look over there every day, and its more quiet than ive ever known it. With the downtime, people would get out the habit of checking. Most probably why this board gained a lot of members in that specific period.

Well Donald, the chat board covers that match time period, so people have made their choice.

Victim of its own success, along with the advent of technology.
I used to post on there when Al Woodcock was moderator and it was a friendly, if irrelevant slant on CUFC. As more and more people started using it, the nastiness and squabbling became a daily occurrence, that aligned with people creating multiple usernames signalled the death knell for a lot of the original posters.
I notice that BIGBLUE and MOOSE are on here arguing, they are a couple of names I haven't seen on the Footymad forum in a long time. I often wonder whatever happened to some of the original members such as Liz, pontyblue, southportblue, Wayne, Bluejock, dentonblue etc
Unfortunately it has been on a downward spiral for 5 or 6 years now.
