Predominant north & south split.
That will be us away at Gillingham then. Nailed on.

Hope we get a decent home tie like we have in previous seasons. We've had Ipswich, Spurs, Blackburn, Leicester and Derby all home ties in recent C1 cup seasons

Why Chesterfield CCU?
I would've thought you would've been when we got whacked there 4-1? One of the worst Away performances I can remember and there has been far too many.
Horrible,flat-pack soulless place. I didn't even realise we were outside a football ground when we went there as it looked like a load of units on an industrial estate.
I've never done Oakwell,Wigan so one of them will do.

Never done Oakwell either. When was the last time we even played them, 80's? Barnsley is good for a beer.

I think we'll get Oldham thus cancelling the pre-season fixture and replaced by a home-tie with Pioneer Old Boys and charge fans £20 for the luxury.

Been to Oakwell a couple times, but don't count it unless I've seen the blues.
Currently on about 70 grounds I think.

Could they not make it a bit interesting and have it that all League 2 sides get a home tie and all Championship sides play away or something, same for when Premier League sides enter it - they must play away.

Reality the answer to that is no, they want to guarantee two big names get to the final. Your idea is however good and would help share the wealth and help promote the lower levels of the game but that sadly isn't the priority of the games governing body in England.
I don't believe that lover league levels should just be handed out money hand over fist but what you suggest is a good way of helping lower league teams.

I'd much rather have a winnable home tie in the first round and then have the chance to play a Premier League team in the second round than be guaranteed a glamour tie away at Rotherham or Huddersfield in the first round.

More about getting interest going, would boost attendances in the first round if fans knew that if they got through they had a cracking chance of landing a Premier League Club at home in the next round. Most of these matches will be packed: www.dfb.de/dfb-pokal/news-detail/wolfsburg-zu-den-stuttgarter-kickers-der-fc-bayern-nach-noettingen-124784/Gives lower league fans chance to see some stars, never going to get it in some places - especially with England only ever playing home matches at Wembley. Spain played in Leon on Saturday and have played at all kinds of Grounds out of the way over the years.

As you well know this isn't Germany reality where that rule is in place. Chesterfield at Home, well that's us out then. In all seriousness a winnable tie you would hope to think.

Hang on a minute I thought we all went mental at the prospect of having to play premier league reserve teams? That's exactly what a plum 2nd round tie would be.
