"He said: “Managing director John Nixon and I attended the Conference and it was two full days of discussions and talks on issues affecting the organisation, followed by the annual AGM.
“Regulations voted on were mainly cosmetic,
"
Well I'm glad they thought sitting through a list of cosmetic regulation changes was more important than pursing "the billionaire"'s investment plans. Good use of time. :-p

I bet you they're really wishing the whole takeover saga would just go away and that annoying *******s like us lot would stop asking them questions.
And that they could just go back to their roles as "temporary" "reluctant" "custodians" of the club...

Well it was they themselves who instigated it all. The trouble is they have expected that everyone would just fall in line and accept it, pretty much exactly what has always happened in the past. They just haven't realised that this time they really have gone a step too far. In the main we've pretty much been an accepting bunch here, and there has been a fair bit of goodwill and sympathy towards them from the fans, really because they'd stepped into the breach. However I think people are finally coming to the conclusion that they are just laughing at us, they think we're all idiots, and this disregard has now gone too far.

I'm surprised our owners were even willing to show up at this meeting without a confidentiality agreement of some sort

I'm more interested in trying to work out why in the blue hell it was in Portugal. It's so incredibly arrogant that the representatives of ENGLISH football league clubs who barely have a penny to their names swan off to Portugal for a bloody meeting.
How can they sign that off in good conscience?

Good conscience?
If other football league chairmen and owners are anything similar to our clowns there'll have been no good conscience about it. Certainly for our two all it is about is fleecing somebody for something as often as they possibly can.

How can they sign that off in good conscience? It was probably cheaper to host it in Portugal... and probably cheaper to fly to Portugal than catch a train down south.

He said there's more to come from the conference, wow can't wait for that one. Although there will be when we are playing in it after next season.

This distraction allows them to flog the players and keep the money out of Lappings hands who would probably use it to strengthen the team.
Totally disgraceful behavior as what if Lapping wanted to offer Potts a better deal to entice him to stay?
Why on earth should two people on the way out make such important decisions about next seasons squad?
MONEY

Not sure if it's still the case, but in previous years the FL sponsors paid for it all too.
