BBCRC say he's refused all requests for the past 6 weeks, with both them and the N&S...
So he's refusing to speak to the 2 main avenues where us, the fans, get a lot of our news and opinion?
And it's nothing to do with AJ/JN before that gets lobbed into the mix!
Yet still some of you will back him! Get this clown out asap...

That was me just saying that they've got nothing to do with this, it's between Curle and the local media from how it sounded on Radio. Some folk will probably try to claim he's been silenced etc. Appears he either doesn't like them or is on a vow of silence.
Whilst it is the quieter weeks, to not speak in 6 weeks is downright rude, given we've signed players and announced friendlies etc...

To be fair, Mr Curle is not the person at the club that either BBCRC or the N&S need to be questioning. So, I don't blame him for refusing to interview.

Maybe: 1. He wants to keep his signing targets under wraps as longs as possible. 2. He wants the media avenues to work with the club and report positive things, rather than negative stuff about the team and players. Sometimes putting the media in the dark can bring them into line. Other managers have done this successfully. It's amazing what influence the media can have on the mood of the fans at a football club. 3. Maybe he wants to concentrate on the pre season, rather than taking the usual question about transfers etc when he really doesn't have much at the moment to say. ccu, your post seems like another uninstantiated avenue to beat Curle. Players have given interviews Dave Atkinson and Nathan Buddle in the last week so I don't really see the big deal see www.carlisleunited.co.uk/news/ It's only June the 11th pal, no need to sack the manager over this!

To be fair Reiver, as much as I agree that it doesn't take much for CCU to have a dig at KC, and he has been on holiday for 2(?) of the 6 weeks mentioned, but I'd have thought he would still have had a press conference by now after that, even if it was just saying how talks with Potts and Gillespie are progressing or not, he's constantly on the phone with agents and players about potential comings and goings and that plans are being finalised for pre-season training etc. That being said, plenty of fans moan when there's interviews coming from the club that say nothing...

More like it's another shambles presided over by the clown? Another to add to the list... Whilst I wouldn't expect him to name targets etc, it's fairly normal to speak to the media. This is the bloke who had more press conferences last season than the last few managers put together! Curle Out!

Curle hasn't been interviewed on the official site for a while either. Maybe he just believes in taking a proper break from as much as possible when he can. If he still isn't speaking to them once the players are back then there is a problem. Until then I would give him the benefit of the doubt.

If I were a betting man my suspicions would be he has been told to give the media a wide berth for the moment. Not what you guys want to hear but probably a wise move under the circumstances - I would imagine any interviews would be a bit like a 'name, rank and serial number' session with Herr Coleman and Herr Philips giving him a grilling and trying to trick him in to spilling any beans he may have. Personally wouldn't read anything into it. Don't tell him Pike!

Got to have been silenced, surely? Curle normally loves the sound of his own voice on the radio.
Curle out tho.

Deano, why should Curle be involved in the negative 'takeover' circus? Because lets face it, that's all we've been talking about since the end of the season. And the media will just try and get some info out of him on the subject to sell some papers or get an audience. Obviously don't know what's being going at other League 2 clubs, we've made quite a few signings compared with most. I'm quite happy with the player recruitment so far considering it early June.

Maybe he only wants to talk to them when he has something to say ?
The new signings have all given interviews themselves.
Other than that his interviews could easily read like this: N&S-what's your opinion on the takeover ? CC- I can't comment on that
N&S-How is the squad building going ? CC- Well, but I'm not talking about who we are after.
N&S- What about Potts and Gillespie ? CC- the MD is dealing with that.
N&S - are you looking forward to the new season ? CC- Yes.
I'd much rather hear about newsworthy stuff, rather than him providing page filler for N&S.

So it's 5 and a half weeks since the season finished. He's probably had 2 or 3 weeks off in that, a holiday abroad maybe.
So in reality it's probably only a couple of weeks where he's turned down media. As has already been mentioned, he's spoken on the official site about new signings etc, he's also been quoted in the news and star on the Tom Miller speculation. It's not as if he's been totally silent.
If in 4 weeks time he's still refusing to speak then yeah that would be weird.

I'm actually enjoying the break from listening to the usual shite that he spouts.
There's only so many times you can hear the phrase 'earn the right to play'.

Just had a natter with the manager about this - his stance is that it's another area where he is doing things slightly differently.
He firstly wants to give his family the time they don't get once the season kicks in, and I don't think any of us would find any issue with that.
He then wants to be able to concentrate on getting work done, with his focus at the moment being on creating a professional working environment from the word go, as soon as the lads get back in on day one.
Part of that has been his process of making sure everything is in place before he sits down and talks about the things which have been tweaked, including staffing, playing staff and the physical environment.
His closing comment was that he knows the fans know a lot of work is being done, and that the last thing he wants is to be seen to be speaking just for the sake of it.
He has had a very open policy with the press since his arrival last season, and that will be the case again as soon as he is happy that he has as much as possible in place.
We hold two press conferences a week as standard through the season (over and above post-match stuff ) and that will stay in place going forward.
As I say, at the moment he's going to hold off until he has as much as possible in place. Then he's going to explain his thinking behind it all.

Agreed DB, would've took him 5mins to do so... All they want is a few words to fill air time and the back page of the paper. Will this new professional outlook involve discussing male genitalia in interviews or is that out with the new image.
