In tonight's N&S about Caig been offered only a part time contact as the reason why he left. Is this part of AJs plan taking the club into part time football as he once mooted.

He said this on the radio, its on the BBCRC website to listen to again. I think it was Curle's way of getting rid of him as I suspect a new full time coach will come in.
Said at the end of the season there would be a lot of changes in staff, I still think there will be more.

what did he coach Hanford and Gillespie to do? nothing as far as I know.....as we know, Hanford couldn't kick straight and Gillespie had repeated injuries due to not moving correctly (cost the club £2000 to sort it out in Ireland)

Why are we trying to cut costs when we have a billionaire coming in soon...

Absolutely no chance in the world is he on anything close to £3k a week!
That's more than most players in the division!

Did you speak to his dad or not as you seem to be contradicting yourself.

Also he said 3k more not 3k a week, 3k a year more is nothing really, 3k a month more would be however.

Calling bullsh*t on that one - £3k a week for an average goalkeeping coach in League 2 when they could get a top striker for that money is ridiculous.

caig said he wasnt enjoying it anyway, do we really need people around the club who arent enjoying coaching our players? From what I have heard from a very good source it wasn't coaching the players he didn't enjoy but working for Keith Curle. He's not the only one either.

Perhaps when we get a new goalkeeping coach he will be able to coach Hanford to keep the ball in play instead of kicking it into touch. Caig obviously couldn't but of course he wasn't great at that either.

I spoke to his dad and hes getting £3k more a week at hartlepool for an extra 1 hour drive, why not £3K more per week? Thats £156K more per year. So what were Carlisle paying him? Good luck to him! Whats the prime minister earn? Top earnings for a poor - to - moderate (I'm being kind) coach.

I haven't seen him for a while. As a number of you will know on here he's married to my cousin, I also haven't seen his dad around. However when I do see either of them, I'll certainly be asking about this. Leaving aside how good a coach he is, the lad is an honest and hard working bloke and he really loves the club. His treatment the first time he was here was a disgrace, and I imagine he wasn't too impressed with what was going on last year.
By the way he was getting pretty reasonably paid by Carlisle, he never told me how much, when I last saw him, but said that he was more than just goalkeeper coach, he had other coaching functions as well.
He's a really nice bloke by the way, and would not have left the club if he didn't have bloody good reasons for doing so.
