I've decided to join the Trust, time to up the numbers to give a better chance of having enough clout to have a go at AJ and JN for the sake of the future of our club. I feel it's finally time to restart the Trust, back to what it was when first started. With Lummy getting on board and a re branding being mooted I feel the time is right,I think if enough real fans get on board and have influence instead of just moaning in here The better chance there is of getting rid of the aforementioned duo.

Am thinking the same, even tho I`ve slated them over the years, I was a member from the outset, but didn`t like the personalities who became the Board. And I still wouldn`t like Alan Steel calling any shots at all, as he did over the share dilution but Times are a changing and new blood with ideas is coming on board. It`s no good having a Trust with no clout.

So how are they gonna get any clout. AJ and JN would be doing what they're doing now even if the trust had 20000 members.

If the Trust is on the board, can't they propose a 'no confidence' motion?

I will not be.
The objective of the Trust always was, and remains, to be the voice of the fans about the club. They have a seat on the Board of Directors as a result of this, and their function there is surely to temper the stupidity of the owners. This they have completely failed to do over any number of issues.
I don't know how often the Board of the club meet, nor do I know how often there are meetings of the Trust (either the Board, or the general membership), but how often have any Trust members heard that there will be some form of meeting before the club's board meeting in order to find out the fans' views on issues which will be discussed at the club Board level? Has this been done? If so, well and good. If not how are they representing the views of the fans? Has there ever been meetings of the members of the Trust after a club Board meeting to discuss what went on and how the Trust voted on issues raised at the Board meeting? If not, why not?
Will any of that change? I don't think so.
I realise it is just a tenner to join, I also realise there is no way to change things unless you're in among it. However these things will have to radically change before I ever think of being a part of it. The Board of Directors of the Football Club is pretty much a closed shop, and we get zero information from them, ever. The trouble is, the Trust, the representative of the fans are a part of that closed shop, and we get no information from them either.

If the Trust is on the board, can't they propose a 'no confidence' motion? They can but what would it achieve? The other 3 would vote it down.

Some of those ideas you've listed about meetings prior to and after board meetings I agree are basics that should be in place. I also respect that some won't ever join, and others won't join unless there are radical changes - there clearly is a bad perception of the Trust, my age and lack of experience of what went on before probably makes my decision to join and get involved a lot easier than some others who were members from the outset and witnessed the battles with the likes of Fred Story. There are people on the board now who weren't involved back then, and they genuinely do want to bring about the change. They do have full time jobs, and families though, so change will inevitably take time. The fact that they recognise change is needed, and are starting to put some plans in place is good enough for me at this stage to believe in what they're trying to achieve. I've been accused of being pro-trust - believe you me, I'll be as critical as anybody else about the Trust if this change doesn't happen, because it needs to happen. It needs to happen as much as the change in ownership of the club.

Sorry mate, but the one thing the Trust was set up for was to be the voice of the fans, and to represent the views of the fans in the boardroom. The one thing they have failed to do is involve any fans in any of their decision making and any of their voting during board meetings. If they don't canvas the views of those they represent, how can they claim to represent them. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. The Trust representative on the board has been made to become another faceless club representative, instead of a representative of the fans. Face in trough, free tickets (I assume) and so no intention of rocking the boat.
It doesn't just need an overhaul, it needs a complete clear out, anybody who had anything to do with the running of it needs to be out of there, and they need to be replaced with people who will challenge the status quo. Nixon and Jenkins need to be taken to task about their stupidity, the budget needs challenged, Blue Yonder needs clarified, we need to know why the team has been so cack for so long and what they plan to improve it. We need to know why they feel they have had to pump so much cash into the club, and why they hadn't planned for the disastrous drop in attendance. They need to know who the mystery billionaire is, or if the fella exists at all. They need to find out why Lapping has been so shabbily treated, and why a director (at the time) could threaten fans with impunity. There are all sorts of things they have so obviously failed to address, which should be of the utmost importance to a representative of the fans, yet the fans have had no feedback on any of it IF IT HAS BEEN DONE.
Get them all out mate, get new people in and I may even consider handing some money over.
