Evening everyone,
Our 'My Time In Football' website now features another former Carlisle player after I spoke to Steve Soley recently, who spoke very fondly of the club - "I love Carlisle. It's a club that will die with me."
Steve spoke to me about his three years at Carlisle, which included the following:
- His hatred of Hartlepool and his scuffle with H'Angus - The FA Cup game against Arsenal - His decision to leave Brunton Park

Hope you enjoy!

Good stuff,it's hard to believe he only played 115 league games.

A really good read and something you don't hear of nowadays, a footballer ripping up his contract due to the fact he knew he couldn't fullfil it.

Steve follows all thing CUFC, including twitter. One of the few ex-players to openly endorse and sign the petition. Obviously has my utmost respect for that. There's many players I asked to sign it but they never did, for whatever reason.

Was my favourite player at the time 100% every game, "box-to-box midfielder". The likes of Berrett, Dicker & Thirlwell couldn't lace his boots!

Wasn't he on the radio a while ago saying he brought his son up to BP to show him where he was proud to play but ended up feeling unwelcome.

Wasn't he on the radio a while ago saying he brought his son up to BP to show him where he was proud to play but ended up feeling unwelcome. Sounds about right with those three w ankers at the helm. Nixon saying "I won't leave Carlisle United like a ship with no rudder" makes me want to scop the tw at overboard.

SP will have blanked him. Nixon will have never heard of him. Jenkins probably thought he was called Neil Soley.
