Members of the United Trust Board met with representatives of a number of the Carlisle United Supporter Groups (CUSG) on 27th May & 6th June 2015 to discuss the rebranding of The United Trust and the future joint-working the CUFC supporter groups. We will be having further such discussions on Wednesday 10th June 2015
During these meetings The United Trust Rebranding, Supporter Groups Joint-working and the current investment situation were all discussed. Of the groups with whom we have spoken, all are behind the Trust’s plans regarding rebranding and the supporter groups joint-working along with being united in their commitment to Carlisle United, the Supporters and the Community of Carlisle, Cumbria & South Scotland
We are now planning to expand these discussions to the United Trust Membership and then to the wider supporter base by means of a number of additional meetings - further details of these will be made available soon
We are currently at a critical stage in our club’s history and now more than ever the United Trust’s current substantial shareholding is key to any future investment plans. This shareholding represents the voice of the supporters and as such we would urge as many Carlisle United Supporters as possible to join the United Trust in order to have your voice heard, to be part of any discussions regarding potential future investment proposals and any subsequent votes
The investment position at the club is currently very unclear given that Andrew Lapping’s Proposal appears to be on hold and the Trust has been afforded no further information from the club at this time regarding the recent approach to Carlisle United’s Holding Company Directors from an, as yet unnamed, potential investor
However, supporters should rest assured that any new potential proposal will be fully scrutinised by The United Trust Board and appropriate recommendations will be made to the membership in the same way they were with the Andrew Lapping proposal. The United Trust will do everything in its power to secure the best investment deal for Carlisle United & its supporters. If you want to be part of that decision making process then please join The United Trust today and have your voice heard
