Do i need to give my post code to gain access. If yes are you john nixon Yes, you will need to supply your postcode but it's needed for marketing and health and safety reasons. Absolutely no flags though.

Why not give the old board another go. I know the adverts can be a ball ache but Griff is putting a lot of effect into making it a success. apart from the fact it's terrible, there are adverts popping up all over the place and it's worse than useless when accessed via a mobile phone? Been there... Done that... Let's stop trying to repair something that is flawed and move to something better. It's not difficult to register again is it?

Aye, there's nowt I can do about the ads over there apart from moan at Footymad from time to time. They get on my tits too but you do get used to them. Just squint a bit. Still, as I've always said, there's room for two boards and maybe a need while some folk still won't post here. No reason why CUFC supporters can't post on both. Good luck with the new board.

There'll be a 2 week period to give people chance to re-register before the forum goes live, so by the time the forum does go live, all the regulars at least should have registered without issues.

Putting adverts on your new site? There will be a few, nothing overly intrusive though. Nothing animated or sound related. Money talks.

There's adverts on the existing site/forum. But yes, to a degree, you're right money does talk. It allows me to cover the costs of the web design and the hosting fees that at present come out my own money. It will also allow me to run more competitions for forum members, similar to the one I ran a while back over a week period.

wasn't it adverts that killed the other forum, Deano (I have advert blocker anyway)?
Would it not be easier and more in-tuned to have a donation box through paypal. The tartan army site that I use have one up and they cover everything.

The tartan army site that I use have one up and they cover everything. The adverts will be absolutely nowhere near as intrusive as the other forum. See what you think when the site goes live. I'll be honest here though, if there's any risk of losing users as a result of the adverts on the site, they'll be switched off. They're set up similarly to the BetPortal one at the top of this forum.

Adverts on these kind of things are a way of life.....unless CUFC Deano is in fact the mystery billionaire of course!!!!! A small element of advertising is fine for me... it's just when it takes over the site that it becomes and issue. The "responsive" nature of the site is more important for me... and by that I mean it should detect what type of device I am using and give me the appropriate view. A lot of viewers now only access message boards on phones and tablets... the old site was hopless at this.

The new website has gone live over the past 24 hours. DNS changes always take a short time to replicate, therefore anybody visiting www.thecumbrians.net may still see the old website temporarily. Please feel free to register any time - you can only post in the "Help & Support" forum until Sunday 21st June, at which point the whole forum will become live. The rest of the website should be functioning correctly. If anybody experiences any problems, please do let me know. Either here, by PM, emailing me at info@thecumbrians.net, or by using banners in the Warwick! In addition, if anybody has any suggestions for additional content, or would be interested in producing content for the site (a blog for example) please let me know. Thanks

All I get is site down for maintenance This is the old website you're seeing. Keep trying, it's been flicking between that and the new site all day for me. The DNS changes were made yesterday afternoon and can in some instances take up to 48 hours to replicate. I currently see the same for what it's worth - 10 minutes ago I was on the new site. It'll settle down by tomorrow at the latest.

One challenge mate - the advert banner obscures the key part of the registration page!! Have had a significant amount of registrations already, so doesn't appear to be affecting all. Hasn't been something I've noticed throughout testing, so can we try and narrow it down a bit so I can go back to the designer. Are you using a phone or pc/laptop? What browser are you using? What is your screen resolution if using pc/laptop?

Great, thanks for letting me know. Is it the advert down the left side, or one at the bottom? It was on the left - obscuring the boxes to the point I had no idea what info it was asking me for!!

Filled in registration, received no verification email yet It's not gone into your Junk Folder has it? I can see you registered a few hours ago, so you should have it by now. If there's nothing in your Junk, drop me a PM and we'll sort it out.

Great Approved now. With the exception of OldhamBlue who I'm aware of - and will hopefully get sorted soon, has anybody else had any problems registering?
