Yeah, no way you go through an election a few days ago only to resign.

Getting rid of Blatter is akin to North Korea being toppled.

This is how the voting goes:
Africa - 54 votes Europe - 53 votes Asia - 46 votes Concacaf - 35 votes Oceania - 11 votes South America - 10 votes
Most of the voting rights are with the minor footballing countries. Most of the money comes from the rest.
No wonder Blatter looked after the smaller nations - they have most of the votes.

A £0.5m FIFA award can do wonders in these lesser countries, hence why they love Blatter...

despicable man. Hopefully he'll spend the rest of his days 'on holiday' in the U.S.

His book 'Foul' is an excellent read on FIFA. He's usually involved in the Panorama programmes about FIFA or the IOC...

Depends whether it's hardcover or not. The paperback is 'only' £200.

If I had a copy I'd be driving to penrith to get him to sign it first.

Ha, see there are 2 on ebay - not really setting the world on fire.
I have never used that amazon to do, do you bid or what? As anyone can stick a copy up at a buy it now daft price. There was a book by Mick Gatto (Melbourne gangster) that was always on for about 300 quid I remember.

Will keep an eye on it anyway. It is just people who have put the price on that at amazon. The best marker is probably ebay - one is at 50 quid for the paperback and that is a bid by someone.

I collect rare books, have done for many years. Collectors will generally only go for first editions of books, normally that will be a hardback, sometimes it can be a paperback. Before getting carried away with the daft prices books are offered at on Amazon, or indeed sometimes on eBay, check out what edition of the book you have. It will also be worth nothing if it is not the first print run of the first edition, so be careful and don't get over excited. There are very few books that are worth high hundreds or even thousands, they are worth what somebody will pay for them.
If that copy is a first print of the first edition, then getting over to Penrith and getting it signed will make it worth more to most people, some purists though reckon the signature detracts from the value.
Good luck if you do try to sell it.

Can't blame the fella for that to be honest.
I've never seen a first edition copy, I've never actively looked for one mind. But it would have been the sort of thing I would have noticed. I suspect it may be worth a few bob to the right buyer, but I wonder whether it has any chance of holding that sort of value beyond the next year or so.

Saw a signed first edition (unsure whether it is a first print) on sale on alibris.com just now for £135.
But prices are ranging from about £20 up to £5,000. Not many have photos of the copyright page so I couldn't tell you what printing each one is.

If it's true that Blatter's gone because the sh!t is well and truly about to hit the fan as far as he's concerned, wouldn't it be brilliant if during investigations by the FBI that they also discovered that he was a nonce as well as a corrupt old fcuker?
