The silly money they pay them, I wouldn't mind doing it.

Is it not just a case of Newcastle saying we expect these players to play if we loan them to you? I'm sure other clubs do that. Surely getting game time is a major factor in loaning out players. I've not read anything about it (apart from the headlines).

im guessing other clubs do the same, Newcastle aren't going to be the only club. I think this is different because it is 50% of Rangers outfield team (not inc keeper).

You know what there is worse things going on in the game and Ashley is a shrewd bloke playing within the rules
He has turned Newcastle from a club that fat Freddy Shepherd was going to bankrupt with huge debts to a club that now produces players and profit he will sell at a profit and no doubt run Rangers to a similar model
Newcastle fans might not think so badly of Ashley in a few years when they have some foreighn barmpot in charge running them into ground if not careful

Only two of the Newcastle players started the game the rest are injured. Rangers board told not to attend yesterday's defeat to the mighty Raith Rovers apparently for safety reasons! Only 11,000 fans in attendance shows the locals are no happy. Glasgow Rangers - the team who just keep on giving! www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31254647

From the above, take out Rangers and add Newcastle.

So the rumour might be correct then?.......For Fat mike Ashley to walk away from all this will be at a price of £23 million? The crest/badges and now finding out the tied up retail with Sports Direct is over 7 years (rolling),plus the loans etc.....he would walk if given the £23 million.
The businessman has played a blinder here tbh, using them as a cash cow. Not something I could do even if I do hate the Rangers.

More bad news for Gers last night as they lost 3-1 in first leg of play off at Ibrox against the mighty Motherwell. Stuart McCall was fretting over relegating his old side, he might no have to worry now! A lot of Rangers fans were laughing and saying they were more or less back in the Premiership. they're no laughing now.

McCall should never have got the job and I'm saying that even if Rangers turn it around which looks unlikely now.

Rangers get 75p from every top that they sell, Sports Direct get the rest. No wonder shirt sales have dropped from around 500,000 to 50,000. Who in their right mind would want to buy one knowing that Mike Ashley gets all the money.
Rangers really did sign up with the devil when they needed desperate cash. Going to be years before they're challenging for honours in Scotland. The difference between Rangers and Hearts has been such a difference since the sh*t hit the fan at both clubs.

How does the whole thing they are doing right now work ?
Ashley loans them money, albeit he made sure he got a very very good deal out of it, but in the end nobody forced them to take his money, and now he has asked for it back they are voting whether they pay him back or 'renegotiate' the deal ?
Is this legal ? Surely if they decide to renegotiate Ashley can tell them to go f**k themselves and demand his money back anyways ?

Ashley has a clause whereby he can claim their training ground if they can't pay him back. I suspect they don't have the readies to pay him and are trying to offer something, anything up in place of the training ground - longer shirt deal maybe :-)... Ashley may be a hardnosed-businessman, but tbh that would be better than the tax crook they have in place at the moment, it's most entertaining
