If we end up appointing the man who's just left the worst team in the football league then I think it may be time to give up on Carlisle United.

He obviously has something as he did a good job of turning Stanley around last season. They only had 4 points on the 22nd October and were rock bottom, then went onto to pick up 53 points out of the last 103 available to finish 15th overall.

Seems like a coincidence, spied him in the Lanes Bogs today after work with a Pioneer apron on and a bag full of Pork Pies, Must be pencilled in for the managers job then?

This is terrible news, the board will give him the same budget as Accrington and be happy with 15th.

At least they'll maybe make do with Ronnie Moore so we don't have to

He won his last match but the Accrington board couldn't get that embarrassing home defeat to struggling Carlisle out of their minds.

In that case, sign him up.

Actually it was him that walked away
A deputation of Accy fans are leaving first thing in the morning for the South Coast to go and try to get him to change his mind.
And no he wont be coming anywhere near BP as one of the reasons for throwing the towel in was that the travelling from the South Coast/Being away from his family had finally got to him along with getting knocked back by three differnt players this week after having a plan to bring in some young players via an unorthodox route blocked by his board last week.

I'm curious about this 'unorthodox route', how much orthodoxy can there be in the world of signing players that something should be pointed out as unorthodox?

He`d kidnapped them at Dover and was planning on bleaching them and saying they were from Middlesboro (not that people from Boro are bleached )

Supposedly players from a club abroad Rumoured to be South American or African who are being brought over here to put in the spotlight with a veiw to selling them i think the issue was that Accy would be spending money on wages accomodation and coaching/developing etc with no payback at the end no mater what they were sold for.
The Stanley directors issue with it was wether they belong to a club or an agent/broker ( a bit ala the Tevez situation ) i think
The video Beattie saw of them was quite impressive i.m told and he saw it as a way to add 4 half decent young players to his squad for less than 400 quid a week each ( a clip fom the video was on you tube about a month ago but attracted a few negative comments and has now been removed.)

How would they be able to register them outside of a international transfer window?.

How would they be able to register them outside of a international transfer window?. Maybe theyre not attatched to a club i dont know but obviously the agent ( i think he was French and he was one of the problems the Accy directors had from what i understand ) involved must have had that angle covered And Deano no i didnt see the video just the clip that was on you tube my impression was that they all looked very scrawny and needed building up and not ideally suited to the rigours of life in Div 3. I did wonder at the time if theyd been offered to us but the lad who told me about the clip reckoned that clubs as high as the championship had been showing interest so i forgot all all about till i heard last week that Beattie was looking to take them but if youre only paying players 400 quid a week i suppose if somebody offered you that and you fancied the lads youd jump at it.

Maybe that's why Moore was at the Accrington game, not scouting for a club that had sacked him, he hid it by tweeting about how good we were? Perhaps he'd heard a whisper Beattie wanted out?

Beatties told one of the Accy lads that walking today was a spur of the moment thing and he.ll regret it in the morning thats why 3 of them are going to see him to see if they can get him to change his mind.
