Feeling bad about defense but no one knows the current situation on SOH or PT do they?
I know everyone is saying its just for the day out and £££. But i want to see fight from the boys and hopefully a positive result. This is a chance for our players to show what they are made of and try to impress a club like Sunderland. Well I'll cya all there on Sunday COYB!

not too bad actually considering who we've got available / fit. i'd be tempted to swap potts and chimbonda. at least if potts moves to cb he's got a bit of help both sides of him. nowt we can do with goalkeeper situation.
but what do i know?

The goalkeeper and defence scares the **** out of me. Giacherrini, Johnson, Fletcher, Altidore and co could possibly have a field day against it.
But the front line concerns me as well. For me a big reason why we've looked a bit more threatening in recent weeks is due to Tom Lawrence playing on the left, he's more dynamic than Robson on that left side, he can go outside or come inside which gives Miller more support (Like Zoko used to when coming in from the left). For me as much as I like Robson he's more of a 4-4-2 winger, a touchline hugger, rather than someone who can come inside and support the central striker.
A lot of concerns for me. I'm not looking forward to this game anywhere near as much as I was when I bought my ticket. In fact, if Edwards is in the starting lineup, I might just look for the nearest pub and not even bother going through the turnstyle

Fleming
O'Hanlon Ehmer CMW
Amoo Buaben Berrett Noble Townsend
Miller Lawrence
Try 3-5-2 and really get at them with pace, if need a change this will easy change to 4 at the back

will Kav play Ehmer at rb or will he give Chimbonda his place back especially back there in the SOL? if Ehmer starts i can see Chimbonda getting a run out anyway.

Will Ohanlon be risked though? Kavanagh said as it's a knee problem they have to be careful not to make it worse. With Ehmer signing he may not want to risk Ohanlon. I can see Ehmer and CMW playing CB, with Chimbonda RB and Townsend LB.

Assuming a good pitch, the only way we will beat them is along the ground. No Miller as target man. Speed up front with nippy passing from midfield, and CMW and Ehmer long passing to wings.
Fleming
Chimbonda Ehmer CMW Townsend
Noble Buaben Berrett Robson
Amoo Lawrence

Fleming chimbonda Ehmer cmw Townsend potts Berrett Noble Amoo Lawrence Robson
Amoo, Lawrence, Robson must interchange with each other making it hard for the players to swap, the midfield will take turns on attacking so each gets a rest, i.e if noble and potts attack berrett sits deep and vice versa, this will mean that the midfield do not suffer from fatigue.

Agree with all of that happyblue apart from potts as he is simply not gd enough at the moment and that would defiantly tell against sunderland.

We have to go with experience / quality youth on Sunday - keep Potts, Symington and Beck on the bench to go at them in the last 20 minutes if need be.
