According to Kavanagh on his video interview on United Player.
Also says he's hopeful but worried when it comes it negotiating the loan extensions of the current players.

We've every right to be worried. Especially with the form of Ehmer & Lawrence. Will be sorry to see these two go.

I have a feeling the new signing may be Conor Townsend

I believe other clubs nearer to his base have made enquiries about taking Ehmer on loan and that Uncle Harry is also undecided about which of his players he will let go out on rest of season loans and no doubt the fact that we.ll be trying to pay the absolute minimum contribution to his wages will count against us too.

The lack of punctuation in the last post reminds me of someone but I can't quite remember who.

Townsend sounds a good call. Looks like if it is there's gonna be another change in formation for Sunderland, unless of course they play with 3 at the back again with Townsend and Chimbonda as wing backs, or even Potts at a push instead of Chimbonda. In fact, Potts might be a better option.

Could it be Craig Roddan permanent? it is the plan

Would be very happy should it be Townsend. I haven't seen Roddan play, so couldn't possibly pass judgement on him.

The first two minutes I seen of Roddan (a sub, forget which game) reminded me of Ritchie Foran, first thing he done was a late challenge, and an apology haha

Can't argue with that, we could see this from space. We took the chance with them, and the lads have real ability. As I said, I'll be sorry to see them go, but thankful for their contribution.

Could be a long-shot after some of his previous comments but the Archibald-Henville situation is getting quite complicated down in Wiltshire with the player over his injury and back in training (see below from 21/12/13) and the club having to pay Exeter a wedge of money if he plays another 7 games for them. On top of that, they've watched a potential replacement at Kiddy several times as per this separate link. "Troy Archibald-Henville and Tijane Reis are ahead of schedule in their comebacks from knee surgery, and both players could return to full training next week. The pair were previously expected to still be in the gym doing rehabilitation work until the new year, but their respective recoveries have accelerated in recent days and Swindon Town manager Mark Cooper is now preparing for their imminent availability. Archibald-Henville will definitely start training with the Town squad on Monday, while Reis looks set to follow in his footsteps over the Christmas period. “Troy are Tijane are at the latter stages now and Troy will certainly be joining in with us on Monday,” said Cooper. “We’ll see how Tijane goes over the next two days and if he does well he’ll join in as well. “If those two come back fit it could solve a lot of problems.” The terms of Archibald-Henville’s transfer from Exeter in 2012 requires Swindon to pay his former club £20,000 every time the defender clocks up 15 appearances for the Robins, up to a total of 60. The ex-Tottenham trainee has managed eight run-outs in a Town shirt to date and Cooper is unsure whether the potential expense of playing the centre-back will get in the way. “I’m not sure but if we are going to go out and get another centre-half it’s going to cost you,” he said. “So it’s six and two threes, whichever way we choose to go about it.”

Troy is also a good shout. But it was obvious he didn't enjoy it up here, the lad couldn't wait to get back south.

Interesting re Archibald - Henville, think we`re well out of that one - seems injury prone and we have enough of those of our own. Not sure if Ehmer will be keen to extend either us being so far north of his comfort zone! could be wrong hope so he is class composed and comfortable in our back line.

if we were to be given a choice, free gratis Lawrence or Ehmer, it would have to be Ehmer. every time.

The two we have the least chance of keeping hold of. Ehmer has been the backbone of the defence, it's not often we can call someone Mr. Reliable.

Hopefully, Townsend will be match fit and pick up where he left off? It does make you think what is the real problem with Chantler? Is he properly injured or a player that Kav just isn't keen on?

Townsend might have to play centre back on Sunday the way things are looking. Either that or Edwards!

don't think he's fully recovered myself - was a bad injury and then infected pins etc - maybe the lad himself has no confidence in it's strength. Townsend will free up Matty for the wing position. All the back four are problematic tho - loans are up and some have picked up knocks again today. Never easy following the Blues...

If we do then I'd keep Lawrence there.

isn't he the only 'proper' left back since ziggy who has managed more than 5 games there without sustaining a serious injury?

Chantler's "Attitude" to rehab is allegedly not the best, probably explains why Kav has only used him when really needed to, and pushed for the return of Townsend...

in what respect, ccu? wants back too early when unfit? or not taking advice and training right? etc

isn't he the only 'proper' left back since ziggy who has managed more than 5 games there without sustaining a serious injury? No. We have brought in many supposedly "proper" left backs in that period... Most didn't sustain a serious injury... They were just too crap to stay in the team very long.

Fantastic news about Lawrence. Although i suspect that because it's only until 28th jan means man utd might be looking at putting him in the championship if he continues to do well.
