One story ends with the Doctor having defeated an invading alien leader in combat and the aliens honouring their agreement to leave. As their ship ascends the British Prime Minister (an uncompromising woman) orders it to be destroyed and it is destroyed. When the Doctor remonstrates with her over this, stating that it was travelling away, she says that it was very much a continuing danger to us. The writer may just as well have put a name-plate of 'The General Belgrano' on it.
Another story features a bloke British Prime Minister doing a live television broadcast outside 10 Downing street warning the population about alien craft hovering above the planet ".... with weapons of massive destructive capabilities capable of being utilised within 45 seconds".
Has anyone noticed any more such moments as these?

I don't really watch it, but I saw an episode where the US President pas.played by the same bloke who plays the devil in Supernatural. Which I found amusing.

That may well have been the one which was set in the time leading up to the first manned Moon landing. At the end of that story Nixon asks The Doctor "Will I be remembered?".
People who are sceptical about the moon landings point out that the only ever manned Moon landings were done by America during the presidency of Richard Nixon.

I've always been fascinated by the while space programme stuff, I just don't see how something on that scale could have been faked given the thousands upon thousands of people who would have had to have kept their mouths shut, just can't see it being feasible. If it was the case now though, no doubt it would be different "@mally-NASA just faked a moon landing gan to kings head lol" etc :-)
