This is by far better than the other forum, everyone is far happier. This one looks for positives more often and people are happy when we win

Indeed, I got the same.
There is wishful thinking expressed by a minority on here. Each time that FootyMad gets a cold there are people here that pronounce it to be dead.

Let's hope it lasts the 7 minutes it did and not run into days without explanation

Easier to use, easier to post, easier to stay logged in, easier to quote, more functions. It's just better.

i think i remember tashy giving us the option on footymad whether we wanted the avatar and quote options and they were both quickly rejected by all and sundry. this site pops up and has both and they are both well used. have we moved on and embraced the idea or is it the fact that we weren't given a choice?

I could never understand why the quote option was rejected over there. Very easy to use here, and a great help too. The avatar thing is just personal preference, and I think everybody is more used to them cropping up elsewhere, on the likes of Facebook, Twitter etc, which is why they've been accepted more here.

This is much better. No annoying ads (yet) and easy to navigate. Well done to the initiator. Oh, and 'hello'.

The avatar debate was rejected by the long in the tooth brigade, and wasn't worth the arguments to be different. Pretty much why you won't see some posters on this forum.

It's always been "easy" to quote - ctrl+c, how easy do you want it to be like?
this forum is better because as far as I can tell it isn't moderated by someone who is a dullard and aloof.

Ctrl+C is copying, not quoting. The proper quote facility here makes it clear who/what you're quoting, rather than just copying/pasting a random piece of text, and not making it clear whether it's something somebody else has said that you're referring to, or whether it's your own comments.

If you're paying attention and aren't a moron it's obvious who is quoting who. Your way just clutters the place up.

Well then we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one. Is it obvious that Mojo is quoting me towards the bottom of the topic below? If you've followed the conversation through in one go, then possibly, if you're just jumping on to have a scan over the comments, then most definitely not. thecumbrians.boards.net/thread/90/peterborough-happy-fergie

The quote facility is a really good addition, the only down side is when people quote a quote thats been added to a few times. That might be what Deeksme is on about, that clogs up another forum that i frequent.

When accessing this forum on my iphone (which is quite often), i don't have the use of ctrl+c. Yes I know how to copy and paste on my phone but it's not as easy as ctrl+c on a PC, it's far easier to just press the quote button on this forum rather than fannying around that way.

The quote button is on the app as well, just noticed it myself. Tap the area you want quoted and it brings up options.

just joined yesterday - not sure about the quotes function - as has been said is cluttering the board IMO
am hoping for better debate without the know-alls - hiya and happy New Year to all cumbrians boarders.
Up the Blues - keep the faith!
