Few things that could be done to improve the board:
Header - Get a competent photoshopper to make a decent one. Anything has got to be better than the 3 x cringey lee miller pic and comic sans font. Maybe find out the required dimensions and run a competition?
Background - Get rid of the massive club logo, it hurts my eyes. Plain blue would be fine.
Sub-forums - An 'Other football/general sports' sub-forum would be good. This would make sure the O/T was used appropriately (lunacy and bewers).

Agree. It's a good forum but some things could do with tweaking.
Considering it's only a week old, it's a very good start and is much better than the footymad site.

Ignore me, proboards doesn't support tapatalk.
The mobile skin is good though.

The mobile version looks good. The improvements are needed on the desktop version.

Agree. It's a good forum but some things could do with tweaking. Considering it's only a week old, it's a very good start and is much better than the footymad site. Agree with that. I really hope this board takes off. Just got to keep improving things until it's right. It already has a massive advantage that it isn't on the badly dated and ad-burdened footymad network. Very few teams have their main forum on there now, maybe just Burnley these days? I see a few of the old regulars on the footymad board refuse to entertain the idea of another messageboard. Pretty funny when you consider it has managed about 3 posts so far today and match threads barely even warrant a reply these days.

Im not convinced about letting "guests" post whatever, and however much they want. Surely im not alone in thinking this.

agree. like all good 'gentleman's clubs', guests sit quietly and observe the goings on with we and wonder. if they want to get involved and contribute to the proceedings, then they become members. simple really.

The background change is massive, and looks a hell of a lot better than when I last visited, hence why I've now signed up. A suggestion from me would be to hide/remove the page footer if at all possible. I've used AdBlock to get rid of it, but if you can do it through the site settings, that would be better.
The only other changes I would suggest are the header image, which has been mentioned before, and if at all possible, managing the avatars/images in some way. This site should be accessible by the widest possible audience, and you don't want the younger generation being restricted by parents if there's a risk of seeing inappropriate content, such as a pair of breasts which somebody already has as their avatar.

Doesn't add much - but this site is now accessible from www.thecumbrians.net - slightly easier to remember.

It would be good to be able to see who started each thread as well as seeing who the last contributor was, if that would be possible

I don't think you can on mobile, although if your on desktop you can see who created it and who last contributed.

If this page is needing anything graphic related, I've had a lot of practice with 3d programs and Photoshop..So if anything is needed, I'd be glad to help..

Anyone know much about search engines and how you get websites on them?
I'm just thinking that if this forum is to really take off, it probably needs to be discoverable by new Carlisle fans, fans of other clubs etc, not just people who were on footymad. Otherwise it may die a death once the new fangled honeymoon period dies down.
I've done a little search on Google and it's no where to be seen (unless I'm not looking hard enough).
Early days for the forum I know, but it's something worth considering as currently anyone googling will end up on cufc online footymad.

I'll get to work on it - might take a little time, but hopefully will start to appear. I popped it onto Facebook earlier, which seems to have had a minor impact.
