Hello Andy,
I'm just wondering as I remember a couple of years ago or so before the start the season, I'm sure you said in an interview somewhere that you and a few others had a hand in designing the kit. Is this still the case? Has it been your input for the last couple of seasons, or has it been purely down to the supplier/do the supplier have the final say?

Handed over all of the kit duties two seasons ago so I've not been involved other than to suggest the throwback to 74/75 season (in some way) - but I wasn't part of the design process for that.
Much better to leave it to the kit and ops people rather than have too many people get involved.

Fair enough. I was just interested as to what input the club had into it and what guidelines these companies get. Don't get me wrong, the kit doesn't matter to me personally really as long as we are winning games, but after seeing Tranmere Rover's monstrosity I got a bit worried! I like to think of the club having the right image as we all know that's very important in this day and age. And as long as we don't have 3 badges this season Cheers!

I like to think of the club having the right image You just made me spit my coffee out. I'd love the club to have the right image, but at the moment it is shocking. I go out for a few pints with my dad on a Wednesday night, and he's laughing his tits off at the antics of the "custodians". He knows about the billionaire, he'd heard Branson rumours, he was laughing about the Trust and he's scathing about the ridiculous way everything is being run like a complete car crash. My dad is not a Carlisle fan at all, he has just picked this up from local news and evening papers, so if he's seeing it, other non Carlisle fans are obviously seeing it. It's making him laugh and look at the club as a tinpot Micky Mouse organisation, so that must be the case with others. These fools are dragging the image of the club through the mud, we are the laughing stock of, certainly lower league, football.

It's a very complex design, based around a £50 note as a sort of homage to the mystery billionaire, and it'll be turning up for sale at the same time he starts pumping cash into our bank account.

Andy, Andy....Andy.....if there's still time, could you suggest the manufacturers recreate this little beauty from 1992, in time for next season? My all time fave blues shirt! Giving the club shop a boycott for the foreseeable future. However, I might be persuaded to shell out for one of these:

I agree with you 100% moorlad, and that's why I'm concerned about something so trivial as the kit - as i said above, the Tranmere Rovers one is atrocious! Every bit helps, and I felt we missed a trick last season when the 1974 shirt should have been something of quality that everybody could have bought and it could have been one of 'them' great CUFC kits. Which as we all know the whole thing in regards to last season and the kit was an absolute shambles, both due to design and being drastically late.

I don't buy this 'laughing stock of lower league football' bit. Your Dad is laughing at us because he's Cumbrian and because his son is a supporter - and the news he reads is most likely the local news, where the goings on at CUFC are bound to feature. But your average fan down south won't be laughing at us, because they won't have any idea what's going on. In fact they might even be envious of us because all they have heard about us recently is that there is a billionaire investing in the club. There are no doubt clubs all over who hate their BOD, and hate their manager but apart from Blackpool I bet the majority of us don't know who they are because we're not particularly interested and it won't make the national news. That isn't to say that everything going on at the club at the moment isn't a shambles - it's just a bit self important to think that anybody outside of Cumbria gives a hoot about what's going on here.

Aye my mates from Rochdale, Bury, Portsmouth and Notts County don't realise it's all an elaborate hoax at all. Not a single one of them is having a great laugh on facebook at my expense.

Those are the ones you swear with on the Cambridge board aren't they? Hardly an impartial view considering you are giving them the ammunition.
Most people in London have no idea what is going on when they ask me about CUFC, so we are hardly laughing stock down here.

Most people in London think Carlisle's in Scotland anyway.

Carlisle United have been a laughing stock among most of my mates/colleagues for years now. F.ck all to do with the last few weeks.

That's it though, they're your mates. They know who you support so they have an interest in it. They know about Carlisle United because we all rant about the circus that is our club so much, and with good cause.
If you went to most clubs around the country and sampled a number of random fans to ask them who they thought the laughing stock of the football league is and I think that the majority of them would say one of four options.
1. Their own club 2. Blackpool FC 3. Leeds United 4. Newcastle United

Can Andy answer any more mundane questions with the answer of 'perhaps' at the behest of his employers please as I don't think that this time wasting charade is fooling anyone to be honest.
