"It looks like talks with our potential investor are going to carry on possibly into the new season. Unfortunately we are still under a confidentiality agreement so can't disclose any further information. We hope the fans bare with us during this period as we endeavor to do everything in our power to do the right thing for Carlisle United...

In two weeks time:
"We are at a very advanced stage in our negotiations, and as you can understand it is of the utmost importance that we keep the potential investor's name to ourselves due to his other extensive business commitments. We have yet to meet face to face, but talks are being conducted with his representatives, and we expect to be meeting with him very soon".
Two to Three weeks later:
"We are still having extensive discussions on the future of the club and the way forward, as you can appreciate the value of the investment into the club means these negotiations have to be carried out with respect to the individual making the investment. Talks are progressing, but there are a few areas on which both sides need to be clear".
Early August:
"As you'll be aware, the talks have now been going on for some time, and there are a few issues we still have not been able to iron out, we are striving to get the best deal for the club and it's supporters, so these are things which can't be rushed".
Mid to late August (depending when we win a game):
"There have been a few issues on which we have been unable to reach agreement, these are issues which we felt, if not resolved would be detrimental to the operation of the club. With great regret we have had to withdraw from the process because we have the very best interests of the club at heart. You will understand that under the circumstances there is no way we are able to reveal the identity of the person concerned. We will however, be persuing all other avenues open to us for handing over control of the club, except for any involving that Lapping fella".

"We're confident that at some point during the next 16 years, we will be able to arrange an initial meeting with the investor's associate's lawyer's secretary's next door neighbour. And we will continue to keep the fans as well-informed as we have done during the last 3 weeks."

"Talks with the possible investor have broken down. The board of Directors will revert back to the situation as per the end of the 2014/15 season.
There will be no further comment."

"Talks with the possible investor have broken down. The board of Directors will revert back to the situation as per the end of the 2014/15 season. There will be no further comment." This might sound a bit mad, but I'm kind of hoping that's what they come out with. That'll be the final straw for the majority of fans and finally, the long overduekick offs will begin, which is exactly what's been needed over the past few years!

They're too sneaky to do it that way to be fair cocaine. They will definitely want to string this out as long as they possibly can, there is absolutely no way they'll want to be breaking any bad news before the start of the season. They will not want to have a bad effect on the sale of season tickets, if they can manage to sell close to as many as last season they will see it as a major success. But, they could have sold so many more had they been open and honest, or if the other deal had gone ahead. There was a genuine feeling of optimism around just after we managed to stay up, it looked like things might be changing for the better. Now the gloom has settled even further on to the club than it was ever before.

"It's a very slow process, so please stick with us. We really need the fans to get behind the club and turn up at Brunton Park, now more than ever! They're vital to moving this great club forward. It's been a difficult few years but now is the time to back us. It's been difficult for all of us and were working hard to put that right."
Never accept any responsibility for poor decisions they've made and always asking for more form fans! Everything with them involved is always a slow process - have they every over seen anything quickly or efficiently?

Cut out the personal insults please Interesting Deano, aren't the "custodians" insulting every single Carlisle United fan every day by treating us all with utter contempt? I realise you were having a laugh.

I realise you were having a laugh. That's not for me to say or decide - but I'm not responsible for what they say or do. I don't mind the criticism aimed towards John Nixon, it's fully deserved in my opinion, but I can't allow the personal insults.

"We're continuing the dialogue and progress is being made but these discussions take time. We appreciate it's frustrating for the fans but please bear with us as we are simply trying to make the right decision for the Club in the short, medium and long term".

Aye that would be refreshing if nowt else. He gives the impression the fans shouldn't be party to any such goings on and it should be left in the hands of the professionals!
