Im amazed if its the first team managers job to work out how much to charge for friendly games. Wouldnt be the first time ive been amazed though if it is the case.

£500 is a lot of money to Penrith. The committee and volunteers work tirelessly to keep the club afloat and all for no personal gain. So much for building links with the local community

My club (workington) will make an okay ish amount from this game, but charging £500 is shocking even more so for Penrith!

United Fc - Manchester (Conference North) have just built a new ground. They have a new ground which will be opened on the 29 May and Benfica have agreed to be their first visitors for free. They are also bringing signed shirts which will be raffled on the night Now that is what i call bigger clubs looking after the smaller clubs

mush - all friendly fixtures are subject to contract and terms are agreed before hand for costs, revenue share, etc. The Oldham game, if finalised, will be no different. The friendly fixtures this year are being arranged and negotiated by the first team football staff. An agreement of £500 has been reached for the Penrith and Workington fixtures by them with the clubs concerned. BoD or admin staff don't get involved in that part of it. We pick it up, once it has all been agreed, to make the fixture go ahead. Why is something to do with financing the club being left to "first team football staff"?! They're either players or coaches, why on earth would this be in their job description?? We're supposed to be a business, we've certainly enough people purporting to be businessmen "Directing" us. This is either a lie, or a shining example of the farcical management of the club. Joke

We are guaranteed to have some stupid gimmick, like a boot camp with the army to "toughen" the players up. That is the kind of manager Kc is.... All gimmicks and sound bites. Maybe he is going to invest those £500's on some decent props to take into press conferences... We might get an actual carrot next season.
Will anybody actually be attending our friendliest with the current situation with the BOD anyway?

If true I hope they all tell them where to go then we end up with no friendlies. Maybe this is the way things are going though and Oldham are charging us money as well. Has that been confirmed anywhere. It's the done thing on football manager and that seems to be the gospel so maybe we're one of the only clubs that haven't already been charging.

CUFC now asking both Workington & Penrith for £600. Where have you heard/seen this? Someone told me. I edit the Penrith website so I am in contact with a few folk down at the club. CUFC also asked last pre-season but Penrith said no. This time CUFC are demanding it.

This year is the first time we've asked Penrith. That's from a member of their committee...

I'm just saying what I got told. I originally got told it was the first time we've asked them for anything however, got told earlier this week that we did actually ask last pre-season.

Is it worth us asking Real Madrid? Yes it cost about £50 a ticket, but it didnt do Bournemouth any harm. They obviously learned something from it.

Oldham at home. I remember the last time we played them in a friendly at home. Graeme Sharp was their manager. They were a bigger club then and I think we were in a better state. Only opened one side of the ground for it, paddock was nearly empty and a few in main stand. Should be even less there for this one. Can't wait...

Sat 25th July - Bradford (A) Tues 28th July - Preston (H)
So 3 games in 5 days, no game for 2 weeks, then 3 games in 8 days...
Guessing Cornwall would've filled the gap?!

Any word on why there's the gap? Curle must have something planned (army camp??) or else their fitness will be all over the place after 3 games either side of a 2 week gap.
