The various groups of Carlisle United supporters now come under a single umbrella group known as CUSG (Carlisle United Supporters' Groups). CUSG is made up of the following:
The umbrella group will meet regularly with club representatives in an attempt to bridge the gap between the club and supporters, and improve the communication with supporters.
On Saturday 12th July, at the Carlisle United fun-day, CUSG will have a stand where raffle tickets will be on sale in an attempt to raise an initial £20,000, working towards a £45,000 target, required to refurbish the floodlights at Brunton Park and bring them up to the required standard for League 2 football, as determined by the Football League. Regular updates will be provided via this messageboard, the match day programmes, and also a "barometer" on one of the floodlight pylons at Brunton Park so you will be able to see how close we are to achieving the target.
We're looking for businesses or individuals to donate an attractive prize to ensure that this raffle sells the 20,000 tickets that we are aiming for. In return your generosity will be recognised in all the supporters’ groups’ websites and in our publicity with the local media. Your name will be going to over 50,000 potential customers.
Your prize could be a cash prize of any value or a product or service from your range. Whatever you feel you are able to provide that will prove attractive to those who purchase our tickets and not least of all show your commitment to CUFC and our venture to bring new improved lights to Brunton Park.
CUFC themselves have donated Season Tickets and a Foxy's Hospitality package, and we hope to have a number of donations from the players. Support from local businesses has already been pledged, including a weekend break for 2 from a local travel firm. I'll provide full details in this topic shortly of all prizes donated so far.
If you're interested in donating a prize, please contact me either via this forum, or by emailing info@thecumbrians.net.
The raffle draw will take place on Saturday 31st January 2015.
If anybody would like any more information, or has any queries, please do get in touch. The main query so far:
Why bother if we're looking to move stadium?
Any stadium move will likely take a few years to finalise, and the floodlights need to be improved this season to meet Football League requirements. Depending on style/quality, the floodlights may be moved to a new stadium. Plenty of top prizes to be won!
